Joan Ciccarelli is 83 years old and has lived with IPF for 12 years. These days, she experiences some heart issues but feels fortunate that her husband is there with her. Her family is Joan’s biggest support. Their daughter, whom they call Cinderella, comes over and takes care of so much for them.

Joan also requires an oxygen machine. She sometimes feels quite down about it all. She has lost some friends due to illness, but she still has two great friends around. She even found out recently she had a cousin in England and they now send each other emails.

Joan hopes that a cure will eventually be found. She is wishing for a better future for everyone in the PF Community.

Joan, we are sending you the biggest of hugs.

Joan is an example of true resillience. What are your thoughts on Joan’s story, PF Community? Do you feel resillient too?
