Some refer to mindful living as being aware of or engaged with all that is going on around us. I think of it as being present in the moment.

It is putting my phone aside or closing my laptop. It might look like turning off the television or putting down a book I am reading. It is stopping you from doom-scrolling as you look for info on pulmonary fibrosis.

It does require discipline to make mindful living effective.

Do you practice mindful living? If so, can you share what techniques you use?

I find great peace and pleasure in my garden. I putter around and work at my own pace. I can stop and rest if needed. I have seating areas in both the front and back, yard. I adore sitting outside with a drink and waving to neighbors as they walk the neighborhood. I concentrate on planting native pollinator plants so my yard is full of birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. I feel like I am helping to keep the planet just a bit healthier for my grandchildren. Gardening is my favorite form of meditation and it feeds my soul.

It sounds like a very tranquil setting to escape to often.

Believing and worshiping God, helping others, and staying busy mostly help. Church family is very supportive…

I am certain you lift them up as much as they lift you up, just by the way you speak of your church family.
