@charlene-marshall Hello Charlene, You had reported an herbal known as Pulmonary rehabilitation mixture (PRM), also known as Fei-Fu-Kang (FFK). As you may recall it has been proven to ameliorate pulmonary fibrosis. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28615638 and nature.com. I had obtained the herbal ingredients to make it but it was too […] View

    @amit,

    I forgot an important supplement many take and there is a white paper somewhere on the forum. It is EGCG. The first time it didn’t seem to help much. This time 18 months later it seems to have helped a lot.

    Another white paper about pterostilbene (basically blueberry concentrated a lot) was touted – took for a while but stopped because of…[Read more]

    There are a lot of foods to avoid that can help too.  But at my age I don’t worry about it that much and don’t eat a lot of meat anyways…

    @amit

    Yes on the serrapeptase. Remember it dissolved protein which means it sees food and more importantly pills as protein and you do not want pills dissolving faster than they should. Had that happen once with metformin – wish it hadn’t happened.

    Natto 2000 FU with other pills and food – once per day in the AM – if you are on blood thinners -…[Read more]

    @amit,

    I have been taking both for years but far apart from each other. Serrapeptase knocked out almost all mucus 4.5 years ago and I rarely have a problem.  I take 720,000 SU’s daily far, far away from food and especially any other medications/supplements. I don’t take ofev or any script for IPF which at 73 (in May) and IPF since Oct 2016, I am…[Read more]

    @dianaj

    I’ve been taking serrapeptase for 4.5 years and it very quickly helped mucus. There are serious precautions such as NEVER take it within several hours of ANY other pills. Did that once with metformin – wish I hadn’t.  Never take within several hours of eating.  I have increased my dosage several times since I began and never had to w…[Read more]

    Probably a great idea, Patrick. I liked processed meats far to much but make as many healthy substitutes as possible.

    @coghlan

    Hi Patrick,

    There are a lot of vegetables and some grains that are excellent protein sources. Think broccoli, quinoa, lentils, and most beans – to name a few. Most of those are easy to cook and there are many more. I like making my own burritos and add brown rice to the beans.

    I used to love bacon but it especially and all processed…[Read more]

    Hi Charlene,

    I thought a while about your important questions before I answer and don’t have many new thoughts to add to all of the great comments except a couple of things.

    While back in the USA in 2018/19, I tried putting off doing dishes but that meant I had to stand longer when I did do them which would give me a still…[Read more]

    Hi Wendy,

    I know you wrote this a year ago but fatigue does come and go. I would say the most important thing you can do is anything and everything to avoid getting sick/er as the immune system is compromised.

    There are a good number of supplements that will help. D3 is much more than just a vitamin but do take it with K2. The…[Read more]

    Hi Deborah,

    Check with your doctor for GERD.  Also, I hesitate to say this but Serrapeptase which is OTC has helped my mucus a lot the past 3+ years.  I hesitate because there are some big cautions so if you want more info please ask.

    Stay well,

    @linallbert

    Hi Linda,

    I would be if I was stateside but I only have meds/supplements for other ailments – and supplements for IPF.  Have a concentrator and looking at portables but hope to get stateside soon as I would try Esbriet.

    There are many things we can do to help mitigate some of the symptoms, however.

    Stay well,

    Steve
