My mother has just been diagnosed with IPF. Now that i am reading about it, i am more worried than ever. They say they caught it early and she will start treatment. We are preparing ourselves for the side effects and setting her up for a high protein diet to supplement the medicine. Does anyone have anything else that can help us get started on this god-awful journey? any tips, suggestions? This is all so new to us and i just don’t know where to begin. My mother is 79 and i am sure that a transplant will not be an option so i am wondering how other people reacted to the medicine and if it helped slow down the process at all, if it really does work?
