Short Bio

I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in November of 21 after having a nagging cough for years.  The summer before diagnosis, the cough was the worst it had ever been and all doctors thought it was my asthma.  After months of no improvement, I was given a HDCT and scarring was seen in the bottom portion of both lungs.  I’m waiting for an appointment at National Jewish for my exact diagnosis but do know my grandfather, mother and aunt all were IPF patients and passed 5 years after their diagnosis.  I find comfort in knowing there are new drugs to possibly slow the progression of scarring and hope I will be a candidate for a transplant.  I have other chronic conditions in play as well such as type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and arthritis. I am the mother of four amazing boys and pray non of them will be diagnosed in the future.
