Biography

I have recently been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.  I also have been able to recover after Covid in Dec. prior to knowing diagnosis.I had the monoclonal antibody treatment and recovered well although my sense of taste is diminished.   So sad that I can’t taste my chocolate very well!!    No meds have been prescribed so far except Albuterol PRN   but have been in rehab exercise program that is 12 weeks long.   The people in class are evaluated each day and then follow with 1/2 hr. of exercises.    Very helpful but will be ending in one month.   I plan to enroll in local classes so I can keep exercising.   I have gained 20 lbs prior to diagnosis.   Of course this is difficult to diagnose and/or blame the disease. Ha!

I am so frightened about the decrease in my activities and changes that are coming.   It is very discouraging so I hope to obtain some encouragement from reaching out to others .   I am 77 and have been in good health I thought.   I grew up in Penna. around coal mines and steel mills  – possibly a long term cause – don’t know.   Never smoked and have spent 14 years in Alaska and Calif. before moving her to N. Carolina  5 yrs. ago.  So……..my education is just beginning.   I will also be connecting with a counselor to help me.   I have a daughter in Raleigh and a son in San Fran.   Thanks for your input.   I appreciate it very much.  Carol
