Dear Mrs. Swain,
Thank you for letting us know about David, but I’m so sorry for your loss. It took me a few days to reply because I was so sad to hear this news. I loved corresponding with David on these forums, especially about your travel to New Zealand and how much he loved that. He was an integral part of our forums community,…[Read more]

Dear Mrs. Swain,
Thank you for thinking to share your deep loss with us here. Sometimes going to our rest is a blessing. Having had this disease for almost 5 years and other issues, I don’t want to burden my wife but she would not agree with that. So we move forward until we can’t.
Be at peace best you can.
Blessings – Steve

While on Esbriet I experienced tingling and throbbing in my fingers and toes and to a lesser extent, my feet. I’ve been on a temporary break from Esbriet (doctor’s decision) for about a week while we figure out what medication is causing other issues. Since about 48 hours off Esbriet the sensations I described stopped. They were…[Read more]

Hi David,
Thanks for writing, so nice to hear from you, although sorry to hear you’ve deteriorated! It is very disheartening to hear how many folks are having a harder time with their IPF in the last few months. Are you finding you just have increased shortness of breath? How has starting the Ofev been for you?
I sure will treasure…[Read more]

Hey Dave,
No treatments over here. Pulmonologists are almost completely unaware of ILD/IPF as it is quite rare here. So when I return to the USA sometime in 2020, I will have my local Roanoke, VA doc set up tests she may want to do and I will restart laser therapy. I think laser + Wei will be very helpful for me and I know…[Read more]

Thanks David ( @davidaswain ). I’m currently taking 240,000 but may try to bump up. Do you always take it on an empty stomach?

@davidaswain: I have not noticed any significant changes on my end either and we seem to be on similar tracks. I expect to have a CT scan next month and hope the treatments have slowed down the disease progression. Best wishes, Lorraine

I have been off the radar … thank you for your kind words, camaraderie and information-sharing.
I had an email exchange with your health guru. Currently they do not have participating doc near me, nor the testing capabilities locally. They are working on remote testing in the mean time they of course can prescribe supplements. I…[Read more]

Hi David – that’s good stuff you are doing. Yes, I was surprised when the doctor did 2 scans 3 months apart.
The 6-minute walk test is a control for distance and time and maybe some elevation. Then sit and look at O2/HR, 85 is a red line for O2, rapid pulse may be an indicator of PH. I was not too concerned over the last one when it…[Read more]

Hi David,
Have you confirmed the laser doctor is doing the correct protocol and amount of time each side?
When I started the laser the end of January we were using the wrong protocol the first 3 treatments. Since then I have had 18 treatments and increased endurance with O2 generally holding. There are good days and not so good…[Read more]

Hi David – thanks for sharing your insights. Haven’t found a laser treatment in the Philippines but I have several people trying to figure it out. Not so worried about the long haul travel just the huge amount of things I need to take care of before I leave as I get tired far too easily anymore if it is hard work… Thanks! – Steve

Hi David,
Yes there is a lot about mitro and ATP. Autophagy is another way for the body to repair and cleanse itself. Been taking Q10 with ubiquinol a long time. Haven’t tried carnosine but heard about it. If you look at Dr. Ford brewer he has a lot to say what you mentioned. Dr Axe (google him) has a short article on au…[Read more]

Hi David,
I know we had a brief conversation a while ago so was wanting the dose so others can see. I assume you mean 320000SU? Now I take 400000 SU daily in 2 separate doses and make sure I remember as it is more important than food. Natto certainly helps the heart rate slow down quickly, some are concerned about bleeding but I h…[Read more]

Hi David,
How much serrapeptase are you taking daily? I started about 4 months ago and noticed fast results. Regards your angina, serrapeptase is a good blood cleaner but I would also suggest looking at nattokinase for angina. I do take both and the natto reduced my heart rate in just a few days. Adding the natto to the serra, a…[Read more]

Hi David,
Andy suggested I call veterinarians and see if they help. Some might. Going off laser begins the regression again but if it is only once per week I am doing and if I return to the USA end of the year, should be fine considering the supplements. Flying back home without O2 then could be a little challenging.
Our bo…[Read more]
