Biography

82 year old male. Diagnosed via biopsy late 2017 after appointments and tests  for a year with pulmonologist trying to determine extreme shortness of breath. Smoked age 24 t0 54 so shortness of breath was expected . Put on Esbriet and have experienced no side effects at any time. Doctor suggested Pulmonary Rehab which Medicare did not pay for because data wasn’t bad enough. Went for a couple of weeks at my expense and incorporated exercises into my routines.  I felt definite improvement, but Covid closed the Y down and I feel I have slipped since then. My last two assessments have been positive as the IPF scarring has not increased. I feel the rehab has been a significant help and I am now once again going to the Y.
