Recently diagnosed with Scleradoma accompanied with pulmonary fibrosis and doc wants me to take Ofev.
The physical changes in my lungs are minor in 7 years when they didn’t know what this was, but my lung function test are supposedly worse. the first ones were done with a different medical group, who now myself of my docs trust due to them misdiagnosing this. Part of me wants to wait to do another function test before actually taking OFEV. not to mention I found out my insurance doesn’t cover this or Esbriet. so it appears to be a long battle to even get it approved. I fear changing jobs one day and my body relying on this medication and not being able to afford it even with a co-pay. I was just told sometimes the pharmaceutical company will pay for it. I don’t know what to do and don’t want the manufacturing making the choice for me. any advise ?
