      • Since the word fibrosis means scarring or thickening of tissue, how can you have Pulmonary Fibrosis without scarring in your lungs? Seems strange to me.

        • Hi @lynn-schmitt, good question! I don’t really understand a lot of the medical details regarding IPF/PF but from my understanding, if you don’t have fibrosis in your lungs, you don’t have IPF/PF but rather some kind of interstital lung disease (ILD). There are 200+ kinds of ILDs, lots of which aren’t fibrotic in nature but much have damage to the lungs more reflective of “ground glass”, “tree roots” I’ve heard, etc. I don’t know for certain but from what I understand scarring/fibrotic tissue is indicative of IPF/PF. I could be wrong though!
