I personally don’t diet but I do drink two organic meals replacement (Garden of life from Sprouts) shakes with probiotics and veggies but then I eat what I want once a day just not alot of it. It’s unfair for us to have this condition and can’t eat anything either. I love pizza, wings, a beer occasionally and all the other good unhealthy foods but I moderate. The shakes I’ve been doing for about two months a man I do feel a lot better. A lot less joint pain and icky feeling.

Tracie, just stay strong. I know this is tough but it will get a little better I ended losing my home back in 2010 because I was unable to work. It took them 10 months to diagnose me. My lung capacity it 31% but some how I am able to work daily. I truly believe you will qualify for SS if you need it. Your doctors will write whatever document they need to get you approved. Just get the process started online and don’t be intimidated by it because you aren’t lying about your condition. You’ve paid into that system so please get your money so you can live and feed yourself. I pray for all people with this horrible disease, I hate it but I have to keep fighting. God bless and goodluck.

Can anyone please provide some insight on life after transplant? I need a double but I want to know what life is like afterwards.

  • I love pineapples, and now I will buy the juice. I usually eat pineapple chunks.

  • What can you besides “I’m doing okay.” You can’t explain anything because people just ask more questions like how and what is it. They don’t underhand and it isn’t worth your time explaining.

@GeorgeClayton, very encouraging! I also plan to take edibles or the liquid form. There needs to be an open mind approach from our doctors. They are hypocrites st times because they need a million studies for anything related to MJ but will prescribe pharmaceuticals off label meaning these medicines haven’t been proven to do what they’re prescribing them to you for

I don’t understand why doctors want to prescribe us these highly addictive medicines when they know all we want is our pain relieved and some sleep. Why do I need to take an addictive substance for that, I take probably 23 pills a day. They only offered me the codeine cough syrup that you barely get because everyone is abusing it. I need to try something different. I see people saying their lungs can get too relaxed but I my doctor told me to make sure my lungs rest at night and that’s what the supplemental O2 is for so they don’t have to work as hard at night as they do during the day becuase I still work full time and my lung capacity is 31%.

I am very interested in CBD, I ordered the pills and oil but haven’t taken them yet. My biggest reason is to get off the codeine cough syrup which is ten times worse than THC. I have a hard time sleeping when I don’t have my cough syrup it is good with suppressing my cough but man it’s addictive. I have read lots about the positive of THC through the nebulizer which doesn’t send all extras to your lungs from smoke. There’s a lady on YouTube claiming that she cure her PF through THC and CBD. There is some info on positive effects on fibrosis. I am going to try the pills with no THC so I can offset the codeine cough syrup. I have read the it really helps with inflammation, helps you sleep at night, and puts our mind at ease without the psychoactive effects of THC but I am going to try the nebulizer too soon.

I was diagnosed on 2010 which lead me to take 6 months off then I came back full time for 4 years and got pneumonia and was off another 5 months  I have the best work support on the planet! I have gotten nothing but support even now as I am still going. My lung capacity has been at 31% for eight years with dips in the low 20s with flu. My O2 stays at 95% at rest and light movement. My doctors are also the best with managing my illness and I take care of myself (rest)! I work in the biotech industry and love making life saving meds for people because someone is doing the same for me. I want to work as long as possible as long as I can do this job. If I had more physically strenuous job I would have to find a way to retire as I am only 45 years old.
