    Charlene Marshall replied to the topic Choosing a Portable O2 concentrator for air travel in the forum Using Our Forums 9 months, 1 week ago

    @warlock ,

    Hi Bill!
    I’ve never been asked by any airline employees to see the extra batteries I use for my POC on flights. They typically just ask if I have enough for 150% of the flight duration and if I say yes, that is all they need to know. No one has ever really verified anything on POC, aside from it being FAA approved and then it gets…[Read more]

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for sharing, this is interesting information about liquid oxygen. It’s so hard to obtain here where I live! Keep us posted on whether the cost increased next bill, I’d be curious.

    Hi Bill,

    Really good point! I think one of the reasons why a lot of people don’t consider/talk about liquid 02 is due to the availability of it. It’s really hard to come by here in Canada, and I’ve heard the same throughout the US. I agree with you – its definitely the best solution for portability and 02, but hard to obtain. Do you…[Read more]

    @warlock

    Thanks so much for taking the time to write all of this out, I have no doubt it will be helpful for new patients and those seeking more information on oxygen options. We’re so appreciative!

    Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

    Sincerely,
    Char.

    @warlock ,

    Hi Bill!

    Thanks so much for writing, and reminding everyone of that information. You are correct: the setting on the POC is not reflective of the oxygen LPM being delivered (for concentrators), and the maker of the machine should always be consulted, in addition to your physician, when determining how much 02 you need. I hope most…[Read more]

    Hi Bill,

    Really good idea for the experiment! I’m not sure if those of us with IPF/PF can get “too much” 02, I’ve heard no but I’ve also heard yes, and truthfully always forget to ask my physician about this. Based on the concentrators I have and LPM, I doubt I’d be able to get too much but those with higher litre flows may. Good…[Read more]

    Charlene Marshall replied to the topic Getting the Flu Shot: What is Your Doctor's Opinion? in the forum Diagnosis Information and General Questions 2 years, 3 months ago

    @warlock,

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks so much for writing about this topic, and I certainly agree with you! My Mom is a Pharmacist and she often takes a lot of crap from people about their beliefs in the flu shot. While it is a personal belief for some, sure, I don’t understand (like you) why it continues to be a huge conversation. Better to have it onboard…[Read more]
