    Michael,

Not everyone has side effects from Esbriet. I’ve been on it for a couple of years with virtually no side effects. Give it a try before you decide.

Betty Edwards replied to the topic Pulmonary Rehab May Improve Exercise Capacity and Quality of Life in IPF Patients in the forum Flash Briefings & Podcasts 3 years, 1 month ago

I’m in the middle of my pulmonary rehab. Twice a week for 13 weeks. I find it helpful. I’m not on oxygen at home but my levels drop to the low 80s quite rapidly if I walk faster than 2 mph or go up hill. They put me on 2L of ox while I’m on the treadmill and I can walk 3mph without dropping below 89.

Basically PR is improving my physi…[Read more]

      Hi Marsha,
You know, it’s posts like yours that make all my effort SO worthwhile! I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am to know that things have changed for the better for you! I will be anxious to hear how your recent PFT compared to the last one…….

I am so happy for you @marshaharris and so glad you’re able to do more around the house, even with your 02 and most importantly of all, that you feel your life is more fulfilling than ever before. Happy Friday to you!
I am totally thrilled that you have seen good changes in your PFT. AND it’s very substantial change at that!!! The good thing is that you are feeling improved and able to do more, have improved quality of life, but it is substantiated in your test results. So GLAD you started laser therapy!
          God Bless!

Betty Edwards replied to the topic Laser Therapy Part III in the forum Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness & Advocacy 3 years, 4 months ago

Many of the Laser Therapy posts on this forum talk about a cold laser.  I talked to a Tucson Chiropractor named Dr Parks who has a K 4 laser. He says it is a hot laser that creates heat. He also says there is no Class 4 laser by K that is cold.  Dr Hall, can you please clarify.  I don’t want to start treatment with the wrong kind of laser.

John, I’ve been taking Esbriet for over a year. No bad side effects. It’s working. Try it you can always quit if you don’t like it or switch to Ofev. My doc had me so worried about the side effects that I almost did not try it. Glad I did. Good luck.

Thanks Betty. You are the second person today giving me some positive feedback with their experience with Esbriet. Maybe God’s trying to tell me something? All the best to you & thank you….
