Biography

I am a practicing clinical psychologist who consults with many people who have been diagnosed with IPF.

I am passionate about helping to ensure that people with IPF and also their loved ones have their emotional health considered and addressed by their health professionals team. As such, I also research the psychological impact of IPF on patient and caregiver. Which is why I am midway through a PhD that looks at the emotional impact of IPF on patients and their loved ones.

We are currently recruiting for a comprehensive interview that explores many aspects of your IPF journey. We also (if appropriate) interview your caregiver (loved one) as well. In 2020 I will be running a randomised clinical trial that explores the efficacy of a specially designed support group for IPF patients and their caregivers.

Other than that, I travel to the major respiratory conferences every year in America, Europe and Asia to ensure I help to keep the clinicians who treat people with IPF thinking about the ‘whole’ person and nt just focusing on the symptom profile etc.
