Biography

July 2013 I retired from the USPS Engineering. I was having breathing issues over several years.  I taught that I was just out of shape.  I had several tests for alergeries, asthma, etc, with negative results for all.   My primary doctor finally sent me for a CTC scan.  I was diagnosed with IPF March 22, 2017.  I then went to a pulmonary care specialist who verified the CTC scan.  I asked for a second opinion and went to our local hospital Fairfax INOVA Hospital pulmonary group.  They confirmed the diagnosis that I have IPF.  They also reviewed the CTC scan I had in 2011 and to my surprise the scan showed  that I had IPF in 2011.

My pulmonary doctor now has me on Esbriet (Pirfenidone) 267mg 9/day.
