Have you considered a lung transplant? My husband was diagnosed with IPF in May 2022. He was failing quickly. His case was complicated because he had a double heart bipass in 2020 and he was 70 years old. He was turned down by 2 hospitals and fortunately The Mayo Clinic accepted him. I know The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Lung Transplant will not be accepting Medicare Advantage as of January 2024.  I am so grateful that my husband&hellip;</p>

His lungs failed him completely and he was on full time oxygen at very high levels and hospitalized for 2 1/2 months.  I finally took him home and could only get him 8 liters of oxygen which was enough to keep him alive but he was restricted to his bed or couch. The Mayo Clinic recently did a successful lung transplant on a man that was 77 years old. They are patient focused and committed to saving lives. Their goals are to (1) increase the number of transplants they can perform (2) have fantastic outcomes for their patients. Thankfully he was accepted into the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. They take the most challenging cases. He is 71 years old and had a heart bi-pass.
