Grateful for all the replies and observations. After 3 months of pirfenidone, doctor approved stopping for a few weeks. Restarted at 3×267/day. But I had forgotten about sun exposure, and was hit hard with rash and itchy skin on forearms and thighs. Treated with creams but doctor switched me to Ofev (100mg 2x/day). After 3 months, lost appetite and 40lbs lost, dr allows me to suspend meds for 2 wks. Some appetite returned. I want to extend longer.. How long for side effects to fade?. I want toregain weight and stamina before restarting the protocol.
