The response from BC/BS is that they wont be covering it because it &#8220;provides no added benefit&#8221; to me since I am doing ok with few side effects from OFEV.  UCD has filed an appeal&hellip;</p>

I take all of the supplements noted above and in addition I take Vit E(250mg), CoQ10(100mg), and Green Tea capsules.  The first two are beneficial to your heart and the heart works harder when there is poor lung performance so it must be cared for equally with the lungs.  I have&hellip;</p>

Putting makes me hyperventilate but that is correctible.  Singing has been mentioned as a lung strength enhancer.  I would encourage everyone to check out &#8220;The Breather&#8221; on Amazon ($54).  It is basically a lightweight hand-held &#8220;home gym for your lungs&#8221;.  It has&hellip;</p>

I have been taking &#8220;Swanson Lung Essentials&#8221; as a supplement for 5 years.  It is a proprietary blend of 16 herbs, some of which are of Chinese origin.  My IPF has remained almost stable since I first started with OFEV.  I do believe the herbs are helpful and would never stop taking this supplement although&hellip;</p>

To manage the diarrhea I had when I first started taking OFEV I found that using a lot of peanut butter(not reduced fat variety) on two slices of toast in the a.m. was very helpful.  I did have to cut back from the 150mg capsules for one year but once things were under control I went back to the full&hellip;</p>

It did cause diarrhea which made it barely bearable and restricted my activities.  There was a suggestion to take it with protein to offset the issues.  After the first six months I started thickly spreading peanut butter on two pieces of bread before I took my morning and evening&hellip;</p>
