I Was a Firefighter in the City of Pittsburgh for 27 years before retiring at the age of 50. I was formally diagnosed with IPF at the age of 63. But come to find out, I had a CT Scan 2 years prior to the official diagnosis and in the report of that scan it said that there was indication of IPF and no one told us. So we are playing catch-up right now.
I also, am retired from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard I served 4 years in active service and 27 years in the reserves. I retired at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and was an Electronic System Quality Assurance Inspector for the last 10 years of my career.
