Biography

Diagnosed with IPF August 2022. It was first seen in May 2018 when I had open heart surgery for a Aortic Valve replacement and double bypass. But was never diagnosed until 2022.

I’m a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Inited States Army for 20 years.

I’ve been married for 22 years and have two wonderful grandsons, my daughter is a nurse with a masters degree, my son works for a company in California and has three master degrees…(loves school).

I just started taking Esbriet 10 days ago. We had to fight my insurance company to get it approved. Tricare Express Scripts.

I have many hobbies, and we travel to the Caribbean at least twice a year.

I am terrified of this disease. It seems to stay on my mind night and day.

It is good to find a group that I can relate to. It’s impossible to know how it feels knowing that some day this will end my life.
