Eleanor Heppleston replied to the topic Help for High Oxygen User Nasal Pain in the forum Using Our Forums 1 year, 10 months ago

My husband was having the same problem. His O2 is only at 5l with humidification but he had crusting that was painful. The pharmacist recommended Secaris. It’s a lubricating nasal gel suitable for use with oxygen according to him.  No petroleum listed as an ingredient. My husband says it helped.

Eleanor Heppleston replied to the topic Resources for PF Caregivers in the forum Caregivers and Spouses 1 year, 11 months ago

Thanks for posting these resources. I will be taking a look at them. I am currently the caregiver for my husband with IPF. I have been using the private Messenger off Facebook to send 1 message to all family about his condition. It works well as everyone gets the same info and answer to questions. They tested his oxygen level at various altitudes. His results were borderline. Rather than dealing with taking oxygen, my husband is not on any as of now, he wants to drive. So we are…[Read more]

Eleanor Heppleston replied to the topic Insurance Availability for Patients with PF. in the forum Diagnosis Information and General Questions 3 years, 10 months ago

Hi. We have just looked into travel insurance for my husband with IPF. He was covered at a higher rate, but were told he would not be covered if he was on oxygen. They said it is very difficult to find anyone who will cover a person on oxygen, as they have had calls from people who were searching.
