Short Bio

My husband Tom was officially diagnosed with IPF in April, 2018.  His mother passed away from IPF in August, 2001.  We have had tests done and his PF is not hereditary.  He was a smoker but quit in the late  1980’s.  After his mother passed Tom did see a pulmonary doctor and he did have slight scaring at that time.  This was monitored but he had not see his pulmonary doc since around 2010 until we began searching for the reasons for his leg weakness and lack of energy.  Since his diagnosis he has refused any medication except oxygen.  He has been primarily house bound.  Over the past couple of months he has started having “episodes” (my words) where he would wake up early in the morning with difficulty getting a deep breath, major weakness and tightness or aching all over.  Has anyone else had experiences of this nature regarding weakness?
