My husband, age 66, was diagnosed 2 years ago with idiopathic interstitial lung disease. He received no treatment and only had two CT scans which showed no advancement of scarring during the two years. Then he had a rather serious exacerbation and a current CT scan showed advancement. He has a new Pulmonologist who has started him on Esbriet. I am upset since I do not understand why he wasn’t started on the Esbriet originally. Might it have prevented the advancement? I am happy to have discovered you all and find the “News” very helpful and supportive. Thanks so much.
