My husband of 40 years was diagnosed with IPF in 2022. It’s possible that his father, who passed away at age 66 in 1996, had it. However, the only diagnosis we know of was ILD. My husband has few symptoms so far: tiredness, coughing in cold weather, some shortness of breath on exertion. We are especially open to alternative medical practices, but he has agreed to try Ofev, which he will begin using in August 2024, or Esbriet if he cant tolerate the first.
