Jascayd & Back Pain
I just started taking Jascayd last November and a week ago I started having severe lower back pain. Is it caused by Jascayd possibly as I have done nothing physically to trigger it? It is a band across my entire lower back but does not shoot down my legs. Had no symptoms on drug at all for 2 months.
Could not take with OFEV as that caused bad diarrhea. Considering stopping Jascayd and going back to just OFEV to see if pain goes away.

I just started taking Jascayd five weeks ago. Two weeks into it I started to experience chronic pain around my lower back. It was my back my hips and my groin. I could not walk, sit or sleep in my bed for two days. I have always had lower back issues. I have gotten shots for those issues which have always helped.
This pain was something I never experienced before. It has gotten much better in the past two days.
I am just dealing with the normal pain I always have.
I tell you it was a nasty experience that almost stopped me from continuing with the med. Powered through it and thank God it has gotten better.

Based on the information from Jascayd (https://patient.boehringer-ingelheim.com/us/products/jascayd/), back pain is a known side effect. On the same webpage, you will find that Boehringer-Ingelheim encourages you to report negative side effects and provides a link to report those side effects.

I remember having this pain that radiated down my back to my leg like sciatica early
But the pain did stop and have not had it again. Asking a new question Has anyone switched to Jascayd from Ofev or perfididone? I have definitley gone down at a faster rate with it . Has anyone else? Also taking new drug Yutrepia -
I take all 3. You can take the OFEV and the Jascayd. Just started the Yutrepia 3 weeks ago but was using Tyvaso prior to switching. I could not tolerate the Tyvaso. It is the same medicine but a different inhaler and it is much better. I am doing well on the Yuptrpia. I take so much medicine and can’t tell if I am having another side effect or if I have another ailment. UGH!

Hi, I take Jascayd and Ofev. Been on both for about 2 months. So far no side effects. Not even diarrhea or nausea. Have had no back pain at all. We never know how we will react to these drugs. Hoping the 2 together will help. Tomorrow could be entirely different. Brenda

I added Jascayd to my OFEV regiment two weeks ago and for the last 4 days I started having debilitating back issues. As most, I have some pre-existing back issues but none have ever hit me like this did. Getting up from a chair or from bending over the sharp pain was so bad that my knees would buckle…that was a new one for me! I am going to stop taking it starting this evening and see what happens…will keep you posted as needed.
PS: After 1 1/2 years of taking OFEV I was doing fine but in talking with my pulmonologist we decided it might be an additional benefit so why not give it a try.

I started taking Jascayd in November. I noticed a little loser back pain, but nothing real bad. I would lay on the ground and do some stretches and it usually helped. In the last month or so it has become very more painful. Did anyone go off Jascayd because of lower back pain, and if so did the pain go away? Thank you.
