Short Bio

I was diagnosed with IPF in August 2021. I had a slight cough which would not go away.  I asked my GP for antibiotics and a x ray of my chest, which he did. He saw scarring on both of my lungs and sent me to an consultant. I choose to go private as I wanted to know the problem asap. My mother died from lungs problem, not IPF so I was very aware of lung issues. I was given the terrible news of IPF after only a week from my first visit to the consultant. Since this time I have researched IPF and found that the Royal Brompton Hospital London was the best place for me to be treated. I had to fight to get accepted to this hospital but I am now under their care. I was given Nintedanib  150g twice daily as from January of this year. I do not have major side effects, I get some stomach cramps and loose stools but if this is it, I am very lucky, but  I am religious with taking the drug with food…. Fingers crossed may this continue.
