Biography

I’m a 73 year old retired RN, married, with four adult children, and five grandchildren. In September 2015 I noticed sob and was concerned. I was already on prednisone for polymyalgia rheumatica. I saw a pulmonologist who diagnosed me with PF. Had VATS biopsy in May 2016 with samples sent to Mayo Clinic. ? smoking related PF or maybe hypersensitivity pneumonitis, or maybe. . . they settled on the smoking thing. Had pulmonary rehab, things were fairly stable for almost 2 years, but now the disease is progressing rapidly. I’ve been changed to liquid oxygen, use an oxygen conserver cannula, and can no longer use my inogen G3 portable oxygen concentrator. I am planning to seek an appointment at a  medical center specializing in PF.
