SHORT HISTORY

December 2011. Lung Biopsy, diagnosis IPF.

February 2012. Sleep Apnea, CPAP required.

July 2012. Angiogram, stent inserted.

February 2020 Placed on oxygen, 2 ltrs at rest and 6 ltrs exertion.

March 2020. Week in hospital, respiratory issues.

October 2020. Week in hospital, heart and respiratory issues.

July 2021. Diagnosis, Polymyalgia Rheumaticia,

I started working life at age 14 as plumbing and sheetmetal apprentice. Worked for next 10 years with exposure to loose asbestos and zinc welding fumes. Smoked unfiltered cigarettes until age 42. Current age 78. Biopsy shows minor emphysema. Work history post 1970 has been in nontoxic environments, Teaching and Management, mainly working with blind and low vision school age children.) although small exposures to welding and grinding did occur around the home workshop.

Current medication regimen

Take a range of meds most for non IPF related issues. I am currently on Prednisolone for Polymyalgia starting at 12.5 and reducing by 1mg each 28 days until next April. Blood test required each month.
