Wireless Oxygen Tubing Retractor – solves the oxygen tube problem.
A nurse and her husband came up with a tubing reel to help reduce fall risk
and kinks and snags in tubing. I’ve had one since October and am
happy with it. http://www.O2remote.com -

I have extreme productive coughing after eating. My doctor said it is from food aspiration and suggests a fundoplication procedure where
the lower part of the esophagus is wrapped around the top of the stomach and stapled. Food or fumes would not be able to go back to the lungs. You would have to eat small portions. I am still researching but…[Read more] -

I wish I could take gabapentin for productive cough – IPF. However, it greatly affects my essential tremor and I shake badly, including internal tremor.

I also have had the intense mucus cough, especially after eating. Two barium swallow tests proved negative for aspiration. However, a bronchoscopy showed bile entering the esophagus and causing aspiration of the lungs. Suggested remedy – fundoplication. Wrapping top part of stomach around the base of esophagus and tighten. The side effec…[Read more]

Teavigo 600mg Green Tea Extract 94% GCHC Non-caffeine (Swanson’s listed in recommended brands) for 4 weeks. Took it 1 hour before food in the morning. I didn’t notice any difference nor had any side effects. I did have a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) done shortly after taking the GCHC and my lung function had decreased since 2017. I doubt…[Read more]

Has anyone read the recommended time to wait before eating in the morning? I have seen 1 hour to 4 hours on posts. Four hours seems like a long time to wait after fasting through the night. Also – decaf vs. caffeine. Caffeine makes my essential tremor off the wall, so I ordered decaf. I wonder if taking the decaf affects the effec…[Read more]

Jan Shabra replied to the topic The Frequency of Changing Your Nasal Cannula in the forum Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis: 50+ 3 years ago
I change my cannula when it starts to feel stiff. And, I have a hint for uncoiling the 50′ green tubing from always tangling around your feet. When I first open the package, I put the tubing in the dryer for just a few seconds until it feels softer, and then lay it out flat the length of the tubing. Problem solved and fewer worries about ge…[Read more]
