Biography

My 81 yo older brother was diagnosed with IPF about two years ago and was growing weaker and increasingly dependent on his oxygen machine, which he had to use several times a day.  We have made some progress in improving symptoms using high dose vitamin therapy, such as vitamin Multi-B, C, D, E, and daily nutritional drink that includes antioxidant fruits and vegetables.  More recently, after reading about some research on the use of green tea and the extract  epigallocatechingallate (EGCG), he began adding Matcha Green tea (known to have the highest amount EGCG) and EGCG a EGCG supplement, to his daily rutine. The results have been amazing. He no longer needed the larger oxygen machine, and only occasionally uses the smaller portable unit. His energy levels and mental focus have also improved.  While not expected to be a cure, it has greatly improved his daily quality of life. I am now researching other possible natural substances to help, such as some information on N-acetylcysteine (NAC), which also seems to be offering some relief to people with IPF.
