Had a low dose CT scan of my lungs as a cancer screening because I smoked a long time and I quit about 10 years ago. They cancer screening was clear but it showed interstitial lung disease. Went to a pulmonologist and he said it’s PF but he doesn’t believe it’s idiopathic. Going for a HRCT on Thursday, lung function test on Monday and then to Vanderbilt for a second opinion on Aug 5th. Feeling overwhelmed as I have been doing research for the past two weeks. It’s in the upper part of my right lung and nothing in my left. He said it’s normally in the bottom of the left lung. They have done blood work to check for an autoimmune disease and the sed rate was good but some of the blood work was elevated which can be Indicative of Lupus so he is sending me to a Rheumatologist.
