Short Bio

I have Covid-19 induced PF after 2 periods on a ventilator  and having a tracheotomy . I was on the “brink” for 90 days in the hospital.
It has now been a full year since my onset of Covid and I was diagnosed with IPF 9 months ago. My lung capacity is in the mid 40’s and I am 75 years of age. When all of this happened I was in extremely good health and very active. I just woke up in a hospital bed after 3 months not undersranding where I was or why. I lost 60 lbs. and couldn’t walk, think or get up to use the bathroom.
I am now able to walk some and do fall often. I have a walker, Cain, wheelchair…
I want to become active again but the rehab is coming along too slowly for me.
I am on 7 units using my concentrator, at home and I have a Inogen One G-2 portable system which does not give me but 3 units. I checked on the G-5 unit and Medicare as well as my doctor say it is not approved because it does not go up high enough and it is a pulse system.
My world changed so radically and without my expectations of ever being in this position.
I’m usually a fast learner and love to win but this has been a challenge that I haven’t been able to conquer… NO AT ALL .. NOT YET❗️

Best advice for PF symptom management

They say that due to the Covid-19 onset that they are not at the stage of knowing how it will progress . Having  cat-scans every 6 months . Seeing doctors and ER periodically.will be beginning a new test and monitoring regiment to help myself and others with the testing. This begins next week. I was just confirmed as a patient for this monitoring and consultation which will include som occasional changes in meds and rehab, etc.
