Short Bio | My IPF was diagnosed by lung biopsy in June, 2009. In my opinion the most likely cause is exposure to Agent Orange during military service. I also had 5 coronary artery bypasses done in December 2016, and have severe rheumatoid arthritis. |
Type of Diagnosis | IPF |
Treatment / Medical Facility | Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, WI |
Current medication regimen | Oxygen Therapy, Prednisone |
Lung transplantation status | ineligible |
Supplemental Oxygen | yes |
Best advice for PF symptom management | I would say staying aerobically active is a key to IPF symptom management. I didn’t need oxygen therapy until after my heart surgery, due to two DVT’s and a Pulmonary Embolism post surgery. Prior to that my IPF had remained stable while I very actively used a rowing machine daily. |
