Biography

I was diagnosed with IPF in July 2021.  Went onto Ofev in October 2022, but got off of it after 4 months due to severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. I am now in my third month of taking Esbriet.  I had a rash due to photosensitivity in the early going, but I seem to have moved past it now.  Otherwise I’ve had no adverse effects that I’m aware of.

I just finished my 1st week in a phase 3 trial of Tyvaso at National Jewish Health in Denver. At this juncture I’m on 3 puffs, 4 times/day.  I’m advised that the dosage will be increased as I movd forward in the yearlong study. Of course I don’t know if I’m on the drug or a placebo.  The only side effect to date is extreme tiredness at the end of the day, but I suppose that could merely be a psychological reaction.
