My father never smoked but was diagnosed IPF at age 70
Now age 78
His brothers and my cousins also had lung problems years ago , but were never diagnosed as IPF —doctors just assumed it was COPD from smoking — BUT NOW — we wonder if their may be a familial genetic tendency in the family
