Short Bio

Hey everyone!

My father suffers from IPF. He’s  had this diagnosis for several years now and was referred to a research hospital in SC to start what was then a trial med, Esbriet. It has helped him sustain a great life so far, he’s just plaining along. He’s lost some weight, and has the sensitivity to sunlight, but as of March 2019, we’ve (my family) noticed something new happening, memory loss…forgetfulness, poor time management….and it’s all happening quickly now. We recently went to a neuropsychologist for some routine testing (and are currently awaiting results). That’s my Dad’s story. His name is John.

I’m Jess, his daughter. I’m going on 42 and am a program director for a transitional housing program for a mental health provider in GA. I’ve been in the MH field for over 17 years now and hold a masters in Forensic psychology. I’m am completely invested in my father (of course), but am bound and determined to get to the bottom of this recent memory issue. That’s what brings me here. I need to know there are others that I can go to that are outside of the situation and that have both experience and expertise.
