When I walk I seem to mouth breath and can’t seem to stop it . I don’t think I am getting oxygen when I mouth breath Any suggestions ?

    • Hi Nancy, some of this has to do with habit. At my pulmonary rehab I have a respiratory therapist who badgers me in a good way to watch my mouth breathing. Since I am operating basically on one lung she is great help in making me be cognizant of when I mouth breathe. I tend to do it more when I’m talking and exercising. I practice when I’m not exerting myself. I also like to practice the buteyko breathing method which I believe helps me be aware of breathing. Overall I do fairly well with nasal breathing but I can still improve. Have a good weekend, Mark.

      • Thanks for the information. I try to remind my self to breath thru mu nose when walking but sometimes it is hard I have no problem when I am sitting or lying down
