Biography

I’m a 76 year old married Caucasian male. I was in the Air Force in Germany from 1962 to 1966. I’m also a retired California public high school teacher. Last December (2019) l was shocked to learn that l was diagnosed with IPF. The only suspect cause during my adult life was 30 years of heavy smoking. I’m on 24/7 home oxygen for the rest of my (now shortened) life. Since the Covid 19 pandemic, I am self quarantined. I also have two other underlying medical conditions: GHF (Conjestive Heart Failure) and a compromised cardiac condition (quadruple bypass surgery). The thought of coming down with something as devastating as this disease has made me justifiably “paranoid “.
