Hi Carolyn, I also have IPF and have been on Ofev since May of 2020. I have also received all Covid vaccines, boosters and flu shots with no side effects whatsoever. So, please protect yourself by getting the vaccines.

Same here. I love to paint, watercolours, acrylics and mixed media. Like you, I lose myself in it. I also love to decorate our home. It’s a way of keeping busy and good for the soul.

I would be interested.  I’m on Central time.  We need all the help we can get.  I belong to a great support group in Winnipeg.  We are now starting in person meetings again after COVID.

I do practice mindfulness.  My daughter teaches it and has been helping me out.  It does help to quiet the mind, I just need to do it more often.  As you well know, it’s not an easy disease to live with.

I went off my Ofev for 10 days while traveling through Ontario.  The washrooms are far and few between coming out of Manitoba.  I suffered no ill effects and resumed taking the medication as soon as I returned home. Hope it works out for you. Good luck

 

In regards to coughing, I find Fisherman’s Friend to be quiet effective and cheap. .  Might not work for everyone, but certainly worth a try.

Debra, I have also have started taking zinc.  I’m currently taking 50mg a day and hoping that in the long run, it will help.  At this stage, I fear I have nothing to lose except hope.  Someone from my support group told me that she was advised to take Zink before her lung transplant and told to stop after the transplant.  She wasn’t sure why.
