Hi
My mom, 85, has IPF and GERD. She started at 130lbs and is now 80 with little appetite. We have maintained above 80lbs but she isn’t hungry and has had gall bladder issues so can’t load her up on fats. Thank the Lord she is still in her home but her quality of life is poor and she sleep a lot.

Had to take my mom to Dr and she is on 4.5 liters. Took an e tank and a smaller one. It’s super stressful trying not to run out. Ask your Dr. Office if they have oxygen sometimes they have put her on their oxygen. But the day we went to the doctor’s office the small tank ran out so I had to go to the car get the E tank and drag around both of…[Read more]

My mom’s doctor wants her on 20mg and we are concerned with side effects. She can’t sleep, brittle bones, mood changes…she is 80lbs. Is it worth it?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>We all have a date with the end of life on this earth. I’d say that making sure you don’t leave without the Lord Jesus Christ’s forgiveness of your sins is paramount. This life is short but where you spend eternity really matters.</p>

Been living with my mom for 18mths caring for her. She is on #3.5 oxygen and extreme fatigue. Is out of breath just walking from one room to another. She coughs daily with phlegm and needs to get it out. She eats dinner at 5:45 and goes to bed at 11:30 or later and thank the Lord she can sleep without cough. She seems to be getting worse.

My mom has IPF and has had a wet cough for months and constantly coughing up phlegm. I’m convinced that coughing it up and out is the best thing to do.
Cough drops is the best thing she has found for relief. She used to take Benzonatate but stopped taking them not finding them helpful. She thinks Zarbee’s cough and Mucus syrup helps.

Toni my mom has IPF and takes lots of naps. It concerns her but I read that it may be to make up for not sleeping well during the night. She is 84.

My mom was given a diagnosis of being in late stage IPF and that was 6 months ago. I moved in to care for her. She is 85lbs and on number 2 for oxygen. When she does any normal activity she gets winded and goes down to low 80s oxygen otherwise she is okay. She tires easily, has a persistent hacking productive cough Daily. She has never napped in…[Read more]

Eating clean helps with inflammation. Just do what you can to stay off processed foods. Look up anti-inflammatory food list.
