Biography

Hi, my name is Carol and I’m finally joining the group. I had Cryptogenic organizing pneumonia in both lungs in 2019.  I was in ICU for a month. when I finally got out of the hospital. I was on oxygen 24/7, I had a home nurse, PT and OT at home. it took me about two years to get off of the oxygen, but I was on 50 mg of prednisone for a year. I faithfully have been seeing my pulmonologist. After a million tests I was diagnosed with NSIP.  I went to another pulmonologist and he redid testing with a lung biopsy and told me I have interstitial, pulmonary fibrosis about a year ago.  I am 66 years young. my symptoms have been going up and down for the last five years. I was even on a lung transplant list at one point  and for no reason I could breathe again

so I didn’t qualify. Sometimes I get so bad I have to be pushed in a wheelchair, and sometimes I feel so good I forget I have IPF, until I start doing something real physical.  I’m looking forward to read more and learn more.    Carol.
