I had a double lung transplant at age 70 a year and a half ago at Mayo Clinic – Jacksonville. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of maintaining the discipline of daily exercise. You need to be ready when rejections, inflections and viruses occur.
I believe my health is now back to pre-IPF state back when I was 68.

Mark, that’s a great link. Wondered if I was treated for a virus or infection at a hospital that didn’t do transplants the road whether they had access to my transplant drugs and could administer them while I was being treated. We were thinking of a short trip to Santa Fe NM. No transplant centers in the State. I really hate to have travel…[Read more]

Hello Robert, it is a major coincidence you are asking this question. I had my 3 1/2 year checkup this morning with one of the top lung transplant doctors in the world. She was very pleased with my progress btw. My wife and I are going to Europe in a couple of weeks and I inquired what would you like me to do? She stated the same as you would if…[Read more]

@mark-koziol I can’t seem to find a list of US Hospitals that can distribute transplant meds. Thinking of travel to Santa Fe. Had a double lung transplant at Mayo Jax a year and a half ago.

Hello Robert, first of all congrats on receiving a transplant. I will post a link to the srtr website which will list all the transplant centers in the USA.
