Hi folks. Was hospitalized 3yrs ago. Pneumonia, hypoxic, intubation, mechanical vent.and the works.Navy retired nurse who was diagnosed with asthma years ago. Actually was working the day previous to taking myself to emergency. Ended O2 24/7. Duke medical center diagnosed IPF after many tests. Plus I was getting worse. Am on Ofev which has its problems. 150mg Bid. Got over the diarrhea but get stomach aches. Get short of breath if the wind blows. Try to walk a bit but really get tired. Moved to an senior care facility in California. My children and grands live close by. Am being cared for at Cedars pulmonary dept. Have lost weight and my appetite. Some things don’t taste the same. Like Beer (Horrors). This thing sort of snuck up on me. 3-4 years ago was playing pickle ball. However life could be worse.?
