Very cold drinks make me cough

Hello Nikki, this does occur for many patients. In fact I have had a single lung transplant and I will cough if my drink is too cold. For some reason ice cream will not make me cough, probably because I let it sit momentarily in mouth before I swallow. I prefer to have my water at room temperature to avoid coughing. Fortunately this coughing experience only lasts for a couple seconds. Take care, Mark.
