I am seeking a solution for my mother,. She has 50% IPF in both lungs. I connected with cedar-sinai on their clinical trials and attempted to have my mother added to the list. Sadly she is not in country and her condition is too progressed to be a candidate. I have just started 35mg zinc (Bisglycinate/Picolinate blend) + Copper regime. I asked cedar-sinai if it was safe for me to try NAD+ but they were reluctant to advice until the clinical trial ends in early 2027, which is understandable. This may be too late for my mother.

Has anyone tried the Zinc, NAD+ and Resveratrol and how did it help?

    What dosages were taken?

Which supplements/brands are proven to be safe and really work?

Did you seek advice and what was the response?

How long was it until you noticed improvements.

Thank you sincerely for any advice as we are desperately seeking help.

First of all, I am so sorry for what your mother is going through as well as her family. My husband was diagnosed with IPF in 2014. We were blessed to have been given 10 years of a slow progression of it. Is she on any of the medications as in Esbriet or Ofev? Have you looked at any Laser therapy with the research from Dr. Andrew Hall who has PF himself? Also, if you look into DMSO, there are studies on what it is doing for PF. Look at articles on Mercola.com and put in search DMSO and Pulmonary Fibrosis. Have you looked into Green Tea Extract that has 94% EGCG?

My husband did all of these except the DMSO since I did not know about it until just seeing articles coming up on my feed as it being something I would try myself.

My husband finally had to be put on a lung transplant list after 11 years of fighting this disease. He is now 16 months post transplant. His pulmonologist was surprised with how well he did for 11 years.

I am not a doctor nor do I pretend to be a know all. I just know what I had to do for my husband and the above ideas I mentioned, he was on except DMSO.

Thank you. I will certainly look into this. I am slowing introducing zinc 25mg then 50mg. I will add NAD+ low doses to see how she responds then scale up. We have nothing to lose. I truly appreciate your reply. At least there are alternatives. I am going to see a herbalist who is very good. I will post what he suggests. I am trying oregano therapy for my mothers Bronchiectasis and pseudomonas bacteria. My sister says my mother is coughing a little less. We must never give up.

I am praying that you will find some relief for your mom. I know how hard this must be on all of you. I truly understand where you are coming from.

I am also sending prayers for your mom @raj1969! I am just curious whether she would qualify for the FDA-approved drugs to manage IPF? The side effects are something to consider when it comes to quality of life as they can be hard to adjust to but just wanted to share if this might be possible for your mother to consider. Keep us posted on how it goes and you’re right – we must never give up!

      Char.

Been on NAD+ and Sirtuin 9, 2 years+ (it is a little superior to sir 1). Also alpha lopic acid – with caution – it can make my heart skip a beat sometimes. These 3 have helped me significantly, meaning everyone is different, and I am 76 and 9+ years with IPH, also PAH, and now heart failure on both sides.

Also take NAC, Querctin, among other supplements and meds. Essentially, I can do all as before at a slower pace, except walking much. Hope that helps…

Hi. I have pulmonary fibrosis and am stable. Rather than put me on drugs, which I didn’t want, my pulmonologist recommended the Dr. Noble cocktail from his trial at Cedars Sinai. I take Prohealth Longevity 1000mg trans-resveratrol Plus – 2 capsules with breakfast, along with 1- 30 mg zinc chelate, by Nature’s Way (most brands are 50mg), and True Niagen, 300 mg – 2 capsules with breakfast, and 2 with dinner. The zinc and trans resveratrol Plus are available on Amazon. I buy the True Niagen directly from their site and subscribe to it, so I do not have to keep ordering. My pulmonologist did not recommend a brand of zinc, but these are the brands of the other two supplements that she recommended. I am 71. So far, so good. If she can do some yoga and breathing exercises as well, I highly recommend them too. Also any kind of cardio. It can be as simple as hopping, going up and down stairs, or brisk walking. Best wishes to you both.

I’m very sorry your family has been hit by this devastating disease. Mine has as well. I started on Dr Nobles suggested supplements in April of 2024, in addition to taking OFEV and Nerandomilast more than a year earlier. The OFEV and Nerandomilast slowed my fall in FVC, however since I started on the supplements all of my markers of disease are improving. CT scan stopped showing further progression. Telomeres lengthened. FVC is now rising. There is enormous amounts of pre clinical research supporting the use of those supplements and in my case they are working. My father died from IPF, my brother required a transplant to stay alive. With the anti fibrotics, Tru Niagen, Zinc, Resveratrol and Quercetin my health seems to actually be improving.

    Here’s my story
