Augusta Adkins replied to the topic Passing along what is working for me. in the forum Ofev (Nintedanib) 1 year, 8 months ago
I started taking Ofev 3 1/2 months ago with no side effects. Then 2 weeks ago started nausea, major loss of appetite, and weight loss. My doctor had said a lot of his patients don’t have side effects until after 3 months. Now I am trying ways to get pass this. I sure miss the easy path.

Hi Tammy
Thank you for asking My diet is no dairy, no sugar, no red meat. I use non-dairy options. Love vegan food however do to low weight I have chicken, fish and eggs. My favorite book out there is “Forks over Knives”. While this is not a cure for IPF I believe in the importance of overall health. I hope this is helpful. -

Hi Patricia
In regards to your cough question. My cough began March 2021 mostly in the evening. As pollen season started it got worse. First time this has happened. At one point the cough got significantly worse and type of cough changed. I went to my family doctor and was prescribed an antibiotic. This did help reduce it and now I only have a…[Read more]

My coughing started about 6 weeks ago. Trying to figure out what is normal for IPF. My chest feels tight. Throat gets sore from coughing and evening is when is more annoying.
I take allergy pills and cough drops. Is this the typical IPF cough??i

I was diagnosed in December 2020with a 50% life expectancy for 5 years. Very upsetting and depressing. However after seeking more info, it seems from and old CT that this disease started in 2010. That means eleven years ago. Also more tests showing it has progressed but not that bad as yet. Will be taking meds to slow it down. I plan on will s…[Read more]

Augusta Adkins replied to the topic Do Certain Foods Worsen Breathing for IPF Patients? in the forum Healthy Recipe Sharing 2 years, 2 months ago
I am new to this diagnosis of IPF.
I eat no dairy, red meat or sugar. Trying to cut back on inflammation and chances of cancer since sugar feeds cancer. Breathing not a big issue yet. So not sure if it helps breathing.

I too have had a cough, long before I was diagnosed. Some days it is worse than others and my cardiologist stopped the lisinopril because of my complaint of cough. This was before I was actually diagnosed with IPF, so now I’m wondering how long I have actually had IPF. Like you my chest gets tight and I think it is anxiety over the cough, I take…[Read more]
