After losing 15 lbs, I’ve been able to stay at 150 lbs for about a year.  I’ve been on Ofev for 6 months now.  It’s been a constant struggle to stay at 150 lbs.  No appetite and periodic diarrhea take their toll.  Now I eat more stuff I like and actually crave on occasion and I drink Boost.  Nutrition takes a back seat these days.  Fortunately, the diarrhea has diminished quite a bit.

    1. If you’re on the 150 mg dose, try going to the lower dose 100 mg capsules.  It may help to reduce your side effects.  Also, get a second opinion if at all possible.  Sometimes it’s just a matter of compatibility between you and your doctor that can make a big difference in your treatment.

    Good luck.

Just curious to know what patterns if any you noticed when/what to eat and GI symptoms?  I’ve been on Ofev for 4+ months, the first 3 of which were free of any side effects.  Apart from taking it with food, what else has helped you?

    thanks
