PF was found by “accident”, a CT scan done for cardiac reasons. I have no symptoms and PFTs so far are essentially normal. I was given an interstitial lung disease/pulmonary fibrosis, but the pulmonologist seems to think it is a very early stage of IPF as the HRCT shows a Usual Interstitial Pneumonia pattern and traction bronchiectasis that is typical for IPF. He wants to wait for a follow-up appointment in 3 months to see the repeat HRCT and PFTs before making a more official diagnosis. He says I don’t yet need anti-fibrotics.
