Hi Richard,
Thanks for clarifying the use of inhalers for IPF. Just to be sure I am understanding correctly, a steroid inhaler may or may not help someone with IPF and no other underlying lung problems, just depends on the individual.
Thanks again ,Liz

Hi Paul and Renee, thanks for your reply. I guess I will keep using it till I see my GP again. If its not doing any good I can’t see the point in taking it and so far I have not seen any improvement. Appreciate your response.

Hi Wendy, thanks for your prompt reply. I know they are prescribed for asthma, COPD and possibly other lung diseases but for some reason I always assumed that they did nothing for IPF. I have only been trying it for 2 days, I will give it a week or so and see how it goes.
Thanks again, Liz

Judy, further to my previous post another good resource is the following web site,
https://www.health.qld.gov.au/nutrition/patients. scroll down to High Protein/High Energy diet. It is an Australian Govt Web Site and you will find really good info.
Hope this helps

Hi Judy, I too was losing weight and had no appetite. I was recommended to a dietician and she has really helped me. Apart from the high nutritious diet what has worked best for me was her suggestion of 6 small meals during the day rather than the traditional breakfast, lunch, dinner. She also recommended milk powder added to a glass of milk or cereal (if you can handle it) and smoothies. I have gained about 2 kilos and best of all I have an appetite again.

Hi, I am new to the forum and I have recently started on Oxygen, my prescription is for 2LPM as needed. First of all I am in Australia so our health system is probably a little different to others, but basically I was provided with a home concentrator but nothing portable. I would like to get a POC so that I can continue with my daily walks and I have been reading all the information on this forum and on the web plus I have talked to some providers and am getting so confused. I have gotten conflicting information as to whether the small units would be sufficient for me or not. Ideally I would like to get an Inogen 5 so was wondering if anyone would know if that would supply enough oxygen for my needs. Thank you very much , this forum has been a tremendous help to me and I do appreciate the kindness and support of everyone.. It means a lot.

Hi everybody, I too have started to experience headaches, I am on Esbriet so thought it was a side effect of the meds but now I am thinking it maybe another wonderful symptom of IPF……………………… they are slight and usually go away after a few hours but another thing to deal with and we don’t need any more, right?
