Short Bio | I have had a 50 year carer in Construction work of all kinds. I assume the various kinds of dusts and fumes are what led to my IPF. I have never smoked, though Dad was a chain smoker of Lucky Strikes when I was growing up. I have have had an awareness for 40 years that my lungs were the weakest system in my body and had always assumed I would eventually die as a lunger, but never knew anything about IPF until my diagnosis just a couple of months ago in August 2019, so I am just starting to learn to negotiate this. Using O2 24/7 I am a candidate for lung transplant if I can pass all the preliminary tests, which appears likely. Scary things to think about. |
